The Competition Commission has announced a public consultation on the bill amending the Law on the Control of Business Concentrations of 2014, with comments due by November 21, 2025.
The Competition Commission for the Protection of Competition (HCC) has announced the launch of a public consultation on the bill titled “The Control of Concentrations of Undertakings (Amendment) Law of 2025”.
Comments may be submitted until November 21, 2025. Only written comments will be accepted, submitted either through the e-consultation platform at https://e-consultation.gov.cy or by email using the attached Comment Submission Form.
The purpose of the bill is to amend the existing Law on the Control of Business Concentrations (Law 83(I)/2014). The amendments aim to modernize the legal framework and align it with certain European Regulations.
Key proposed amendments include: (i) expanding the scope of the Law and adjusting notification thresholds, (ii) aligning with European Regulations, (iii) strengthening the powers of the Committee, and (iv) making corrections and improvements to specific provisions of the Law.
