Foreign trade statistics for August and September 2025

The provisional data for September 2025 shows increases in imports and exports compared to 2024. Final data for August 2025 indicate significant growth in domestic exports and imports. Full details are available in the official publication.

Provisional data for September 2025 indicates that total imports of goods reached €1.208 billion, a 22.5% increase from September 2024. Imports from EU countries were €612.5 million, and from third countries €595.5 million. Imports include vessel ownership transfers valued at €35.6 million.

Total exports in September 2025 were €497.4 million, a 40.5% increase from September 2024. Exports to EU countries were €173.6 million, and to third countries €323.8 million. Exports include vessel ownership transfers valued at €108.0 million.

From January to September 2025, total imports amounted to €10.111 billion, a 15.3% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Total exports were €4.227 billion, a 6.2% increase. The trade deficit was €5.884 billion.

Final data for August 2025 shows total imports of €1.117 billion, a 13.7% increase from August 2024. Domestic exports, including ships and aircraft supplies, were €399.1 million, a 105.8% increase. Exports of industrial products were €392.6 million, and agricultural exports €5.8 million. Foreign product exports were €132.4 million, up 36.6%.

Main categories of domestic exports from January to August 2025 include mineral fuels and oils (€1.668 billion), halloumi cheese (€263 million), and pharmaceutical products (€229 million).
