In October 2025, tourist arrivals increased by 17.1% to 537,744, and resident returns rose by 15.3% to 158,026, compared to the previous year. Main source countries and travel purposes are detailed.
In October 2025, tourist arrivals in Cyprus reached 537,744, representing a 17.1% increase compared to October 2024, when arrivals were 459,106. For the period of January–October 2025, total arrivals amounted to 4,142,534, up 11.1% from 3,727,196 in the same period of 2024.
The main source countries for October 2025 were the United Kingdom with 31.4% (168,792), Israel with 11.1% (59,508), Germany with 7.8% (41,783), Poland with 6.7% (36,262), Sweden with 3.9% (20,806), and Greece with 3.7% (20,038).
Regarding the purpose of visits in October 2025, 81.8% of tourists traveled for holidays, 11.0% to visit friends and relatives, and 7.1% for business. In October 2024, the respective percentages were 79.9%, 11.9%, and 8.1%.
Resident returns from abroad totaled 158,026 in October 2025, a 15.3% increase from 137,095 in October 2024. The main countries of return were Greece (33.1%), the United Kingdom (7.3%), Italy (5.7%), and Germany (4.4%).
The primary travel purpose for residents was holidays (69.2%), followed by business (27.1%), studies (1.5%), and other reasons (2.3%).
Data are collected from passenger surveys at Larnaka and Pafos airports, as well as from administrative sources, covering all travelers passing through passport control in the government-controlled areas of Cyprus.
