Results of the 2025 survey on ICT and e-commerce in enterprises

The survey conducted in 2025 provides detailed data on the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and e-commerce by enterprises in Cyprus.

Key findings include:

• 98.2% of enterprises have fixed internet connections, with 87.3% having speeds over 100 Mbit/s, up from 44.8% in 2021.
• The most common download speed among enterprises is between 100 Mbit/s and 500 Mbit/s (36.5%), followed by at least 1 Gbit/s (26.2%), and between 500 Mbit/s and 1 Gbit/s (24.6%).
• In 2024, 23.9% of enterprises received orders via computer networks, with 23.0% via websites or apps, and 1.9% via EDI messages.
• 21.9% of enterprises received orders from private customers, compared to 10.0% from other businesses or public authorities.
• 9.3% of enterprises used artificial intelligence (AI) in 2025, up from 2.6% in 2021. AI use is more prevalent among large enterprises (35.1%) and has increased across all sizes.
• 41.0% of enterprises use Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, 33.1% use Customer Relationship Management (CRM), and 22.1% use Business Intelligence (BI) software.
• 33.7% of enterprises perform data analytics internally, while 16.0% hire external providers.
• Regarding environmental procedures, 25.4% of enterprises use ICT to reduce energy consumption, and 22.3% to reduce material use or promote recycling.
• 68.6% recycle or dispose of ICT equipment via electronic waste facilities, 53.2% keep equipment for spare parts, and 32.6% sell, donate, or return equipment.

These data were collected from 5,232 enterprises with 10 or more employees across various sectors during February–June 2025. The survey aims to inform policy and support digital transformation efforts.
