Industrial production index increases by 3.5% in October 2025

The industrial production index rose by 3.5% in October 2025 compared to October 2024, reaching 116.4 units. The index reflects changes across mining, manufacturing, electricity, water supply, and materials recovery sectors.

The Industrial Production Index for October 2025 reached 116.4 units (base 2021=100), recording a 3.5% increase compared to October 2024. For the period January–October 2025, the index increased by 3.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The manufacturing sector registered a 4.3% increase compared to October 2024. Water supply and materials recovery increased by 7.4%. Electricity supply decreased by 3.4%, and mining and quarrying decreased by 1.7%.

Within manufacturing, the most significant positive changes compared to October 2024 were in basic metals and fabricated metal products (+13.8%), wood and cork products (+9.9%), rubber and plastic products (+8.0%), and furniture and machinery repair (+7.4%). Negative changes were observed in textiles, apparel, leather products (-6.5%), and paper products and printing (-5.1%).

For January–October 2025, the most significant increases were in basic metals (+8.7%), other non-metallic mineral products (+8.5%), wood products (+8.4%), and water collection, treatment, and supply (+7.2%). The largest decreases were in paper products and printing (-11.2%) and textiles, apparel, and leather products (-6.4%).

The index is compiled using 2021 as the base year, with weights derived from the value added of enterprises. Data collection is conducted via telephone and email, focusing on enterprises with production value over 2 million Euros or 20 or more employees in manufacturing, and administrative sources for electricity and water sectors.
