On January 15 and 16, 2026, the first assignment of the national phase of the European Statistics Competition was held at the University of Cyprus premises. A total of 562 secondary education students from across Cyprus participated, forming 197 teams, setting a record for participation.
The co-organisers, including the Statistical Service of Cyprus, the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, the University of Cyprus, and the Cyprus Statistical Society, congratulated all participating teams for their effort.

The top ten teams in both the lower secondary and upper secondary categories, based on scores, qualified for the second assignment, which involves preparing a presentation on statistical data analysis. The qualifying teams are listed in alphabetical order in each category.
