Average monthly earnings of employees in the third quarter of 2025

Provisional data shows the average gross monthly earnings of employees in the third quarter of 2025 increased by 4.3% year-on-year to €2,452. Seasonal adjustments indicate a 0.7% rise compared to the previous quarter.

According to provisional data, the average gross monthly earnings of employees during the third quarter of 2025 amounted to €2,452, compared to €2,352 in the same quarter of 2024, representing a 4.3% increase.

Seasonally adjusted data shows a 0.7% increase in average gross monthly earnings compared to the second quarter of 2025.

The average gross monthly earnings for male employees in the third quarter of 2025 are estimated at €2,622, and for female employees at €2,238. Compared to the third quarter of 2024, earnings increased by 3.8% for males and 4.9% for females.

From the first quarter of 2025 onwards, data are provisional. The distribution of employees by earnings brackets indicates that 41.3% of male employees earn between €1,500 and €2,999, while 40.5% of female employees earn less than €1,500.

Regarding citizenship, 43.9% of Cypriot employees earn between €1,500 and €2,999, whereas 49.1% of non-Cypriot employees earn less than €1,500. Employees earning €6,000 or more account for 3.8% of Cypriots and 7.6% of non-Cypriots.

Data are calculated based on total gross earnings divided by the number of employees, covering all sectors except household activities and extraterritorial organizations, according to the Social Insurance Services records. Earnings include basic salary, allowances, overtime, and other payments, but exclude contributions affecting net income.

Seasonally adjusted earnings remove seasonal effects for accurate quarter-to-quarter comparisons. The data is published on the CYSTAT online database and revised annually in October.
