Compared with December 2025, Clothing and Footwear decreased by 12.1%, while Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages increased by 3.7%.
Economic category changes compared to January 2025 include a decrease in Energy (-6.5%) and an increase in Services (4.3%). The largest monthly change was in Non-Energy Industrial Goods (-3.7%).
The index is calculated based on prices collected in urban districts of Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, and Paphos, covering 850 goods and services. Prices include taxes and are collected weekly for seasonal products, with weights based on consumption expenditure.
The base year for the index is 2025=100, with the previous reference period being 2015=100. The classification has shifted to ECOICOP version 2 from January 2026.
