The industrial production index rose by 3.5% in December 2025 compared to December 2024, with a 3.6% increase for the January–December period, reflecting growth across manufacturing, water supply, and materials recovery sectors.
In December 2025, the Industrial Production Index reached 113.0 units (base 2021=100), recording an increase of 3.5% compared to December 2024. For the period January–December 2025, the index increased by 3.6% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The manufacturing sector registered an increase of 4.6% compared to December 2024. Water supply and materials recovery sectors increased by 3.2%. Conversely, electricity supply decreased by 2.4%, and mining and quarrying declined by 1.7%.
Significant positive changes within manufacturing compared to December 2024 include furniture, other manufacturing, and machinery repair (+13.8%), wood and cork products (+11.9%), and machinery, motor vehicles, and transport equipment (+8.1%). Negative changes were observed in non-metallic mineral products (-7.4%) and electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (-2.3%).
For the period January–December 2025, the most notable increases were in non-metallic mineral products (+10.9%), wood products (+9.1%), basic metals (+8.0%), and furniture and machinery (+7.2%). Declines were recorded in paper products and printing (-9.5%), textiles, apparel, and leather (-3.8%), and electricity supply (-2.0%).
Data collection is conducted via telephone and email by the Statistical Service, covering enterprises with a production value over 2 million Euros or 20 or more employees. The index uses 2021 as the base year, with the value of 100.0 representing average production in 2021.
