Categories with notable changes compared to January 2025 include Recreation, Sports and Culture (5.8%), Restaurants and Accommodation Services (4.8%), and Educational Services (3.4%). The largest negative change was in Clothing and Footwear (-6.2%).
Compared to December 2025, Clothing and Footwear decreased by 12.1%, while Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages increased by 3.7%.
Economic category changes compared to January 2025 include Energy (-6.5%) and Services (4.3%). The month-to-month change was most significant in Non-Energy Industrial Goods (-3.7%).
The index is based on prices collected from urban districts in Nicosia, Limassol, Larnaca, and Paphos, covering 850 goods and services. The weights are assigned according to population distribution: Nicosia 40%, Limassol 30%, Larnaca 18%, and Paphos 12%.
The base year for the index is 2025=100, with the reference period being 2015=100. The calculation methodology follows EU regulations, with data sourced from household expenditure surveys and national accounts.
