Industrial turnover index increased by 4.9% in December 2025

The industrial turnover index rose by 4.9% in December 2025 compared to December 2024, with a 5.0% increase for the full year. Manufacturing and mining sectors showed notable growth, while water supply and electricity supply declined.

The Industrial Turnover Index for December 2025 reached 139.8 units (base 2021=100), recording an increase of 4.9% compared to December 2024. For the period January to December 2025, the index increased by 5.0% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In manufacturing, the index was 146.8 units, up by 7.1% compared to December 2024. The mining and quarrying sector increased by 6.0%. Decreases were observed in water supply and materials recovery (-6.8%) and electricity supply (-3.8%).

Detailed sector data shows variations across different industries, with manufacturing of food products, textiles, paper, chemicals, and machinery showing growth, while some sectors like water supply and electricity declined.

The index reflects monthly changes in turnover across mining, manufacturing, electricity, water supply, and materials recovery, based on data collected from enterprises with turnover over 2 million euros or 20 or more employees. The index is compiled using 2021 as the base year and follows EU regulation 2019/2152. It is transmitted monthly to Eurostat. More information is available on the CYSTAT portal and database.
