Cyprus launches public consultation on national AI strategy

The Federation of Employers and Industrialists of Cyprus announced a public consultation on the draft National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, launched on July 21, 2026, to shape Cyprus’s AI policy by 2032.

The Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB) of Cyprus announced the launch of a public consultation on the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence (AI), prepared by the National AI Taskforce. The Taskforce was established by a decision of the Council of Ministers (No. decision 97.538, date 22/1/2025), chaired by the Chief Scientist for Research, Innovation and Technology, with eleven members from the public and private sectors, academia, and research communities.

The strategy aims to serve as the integrated national policy framework to exploit AI’s potential. The vision, by 2032, is for Cyprus to be recognized as a trusted AI hub in the Eastern Mediterranean, a reliable European jurisdiction for AI services, and a bridge between the European Union and neighboring regions.

The public consultation was launched on 21 July 2026 through the government’s ‘e-Consultation’ platform. The draft of the National Strategy for AI is available at the following link:
