The Joint Committee of the European Supervisory Authorities (EBA, EIOPA, and ESMA) published its Annual Work Programme for 2027, outlining priorities for addressing cross-sectoral risks and enhancing coordination within the EU’s financial sector.

Key focus areas include digital operational resilience, technological innovation, sustainable finance, securitisation, and cross-sectoral risk monitoring.

Under the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA), the ESAs will continue oversight of critical ICT third-party service providers and work to strengthen sector preparedness against cyber threats. The committee will also evaluate technological developments, including artificial intelligence and digital innovations.

Consumer protection remains a central priority, with efforts to support retail consumers in making informed financial decisions and to promote confidence in EU financial markets.

In sustainable finance, the committee will promote the consistent application of the EU’s sustainability framework across sectors.

The programme emphasizes coordinated supervisory responses to cross-sectoral challenges and aims to support a resilient, innovative, and well-functioning financial system in the EU. It aligns with the European Commission’s goals to build an efficient Savings and Investment Union and to simplify regulation and supervision, reducing unnecessary burdens.
