Average monthly earnings of employees in the first quarter of 2026

Provisional data shows the average gross monthly earnings of employees in the first quarter of 2026 increased by 3.7% compared to the same period in 2025, reaching €2,601.

According to provisional data, the average gross monthly earnings of employees during the first quarter of 2026 amounted to €2,601, compared to €2,508 in the first quarter of 2025, representing an increase of 3.7%.

Seasonally adjusted average gross monthly earnings increased by 0.8% compared to the previous quarter (Q4 2025).

The average gross monthly earnings for male employees were estimated at €2,776, and for female employees at €2,378. Compared to the first quarter of 2025, earnings increased by 3.3% for males and 4.2% for females.

The majority of employees earn between €1,500 and €2,999 per month. Distribution varies by nationality, with Cypriots mainly in the €1,500–€2,999 category, and non-Cypriots more often earning below €1,500.

Data are based on records from the Social Insurance Services and cover all sectors except household activities and extraterritorial organizations. The figures include basic salary, allowances, overtime, and other earnings, excluding social security contributions.

Seasonally adjusted data remove seasonal effects for comparison across periods. The data are provisional from the first quarter of 2025 onwards and are published on the CYSTAT online database.
