Average monthly earnings of employees increase in 2025

Provisional data shows a 4.9% increase in average gross monthly earnings of employees in 2025, with quarterly and annual comparisons indicating growth across sectors and demographics.

Provisional data indicates that the average gross monthly earnings of employees in 2025 increased by 4.9% compared to 2024, reaching €2,605 from €2,483. The quarterly data shows an increase of 4.4% in the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the same quarter in 2024, with seasonally adjusted earnings rising by 1.1% from the third quarter of 2025.

During the fourth quarter of 2025, male employees had an average gross monthly earning of €3,102, and female employees €2,718. Both groups experienced increases of 4.2% and 4.5%, respectively, compared to the fourth quarter of 2024.

The distribution of employees by earnings group shows that 42.8% of Cypriot employees earn between €1,500 and €2,999, while 47.7% of non-Cypriot employees earn below €1,500. Females are more concentrated in the earnings below €1,500 (38.8%), and males in the €1,500-€2,999 range (40.5%).

Data are sourced from Social Insurance Services records and cover all sectors except certain activities. The figures include earnings from basic salary, allowances, overtime, and bonuses, excluding social security contributions and certain temporary deductions. Data for 2025 are preliminary and available via the CYSTAT online database.
