During January-November 2025, 7,340 building permits were issued, a 13.9% increase from the previous year, with total value up 31.8% and total area up 35.3%. November 2025 permits totaled 850.
The Statistical Service announced that in November 2025, 850 building permits were issued, with a total value of €382.9 million and a total area of 333,400 square meters. These permits include construction for 1,631 dwelling units.
For the period January to November 2025, a total of 7,340 permits were issued, compared to 6,442 in the same period of 2024, representing a 13.9% increase. The total value of permits increased by 31.8%, and the total area increased by 35.3%. The number of dwelling units increased by 36.1%.
Since July 1, 2024, the authority to issue building permits was transferred from municipalities and district offices to the newly established Local Government Organizations (LGOs). The permit process is now managed through the integrated information system “Ippodamos”.
Data include permits for residential, non-residential, civil engineering projects, plot divisions, and road construction, using the EU Classification of Types of Construction. Permit renewals and demolitions are not included.
