Building permits increase by 44.1% in March 2026

In March 2026, 776 building permits were issued, marking a 44.1% increase compared to the previous year. The permits cover construction valued at €433.1 million and an area of 353,9 thousand square meters.

The Statistical Service announced that in March 2026, a total of 776 building permits were authorized, representing a 44.1% increase compared to March 2025. The total value of these permits reached €433.1 million, with a total area of 353.9 thousand square meters.

These permits include construction for 1,940 dwelling units. From January to March 2026, 2,276 permits were issued, up from 1,580 in the same period of 2025, with increases of 41.6% in value, 40.2% in area, and 58.4% in dwelling units.

Breakdown by project type shows significant growth in residential permits, with 568 permits issued in March 2026, and a total of 2,276 permits in the first quarter of 2026. The data covers residential, non-residential, civil engineering projects, division of plots, and road construction, categorized according to EU standards.
