The Statistical Service announces updates to the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from January 2026, including a new basket, weights, base year, and classification system, with data available from 2018 onwards.
The Statistical Service announces that starting from January 2026, the following changes will be implemented in the compilation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI):
Along with the CPI publication for January 2026, time series data with the new base year and classification system from 2018 onwards will be published. Data with the previous base year and classification will remain available on the CYSTAT web portal, in the Predefined Tables (https://www.cystat.gov.cy/el/KeyFiguresList) in MS Excel format or in the online database CYSTAT-DB (https://cystatdb23px.cystat.gov.cy/pxweb/en/8.CYSTAT-DB/).
