The price index of construction materials for August 2026 reached 123.09 units, with a 3.39% increase compared to August 2025. The index increased marginally by 0.07% from July 2026.
The Price Index of Construction Materials for August 2026 reached 123.09 units (base year 2021=100). It recorded a marginal increase of 0.07% compared to July 2026.
Compared to August 2025, the index increased by 3.39%. Main commodity category increases included metallic products (4.60%), products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals, and plastics (4.60%), electromechanical products (3.58%), minerals (2.67%), and mineral products (1.35%).
For the period January–August 2026, the index increased by 2.06% compared to the same period in 2025.
The index reflects the evolution of construction material costs incurred by contractors, based on monthly data collection from suppliers, excluding VAT. The index is a weighted average based on import and local production values from 2021.
