Cyprus and Kyrgyzstan signed an agreement on June 8, 2026, to eliminate double taxation, enhance tax cooperation, and strengthen bilateral economic relations.
The Agreement for the Elimination of Double Taxation with Respect to Taxes on Income, and the Prevention of Tax Evasion and Avoidance, between the Republic of Cyprus and the Kyrgyz Republic, was signed on 8 June 2026, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
On behalf of Cyprus, the agreement was signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Constantinos Kombos. On behalf of Kyrgyzstan, it was signed by the Minister of Economy and Commerce, Mr. Bakyt Sydykov.
The signing and entry into force of this agreement aim to strengthen bilateral economic, trade, and investment relations. It enhances the legal framework for taxation and reduces administrative and tax burdens without creating loopholes for tax evasion or avoidance.
The agreement includes provisions for the exchange of tax information and mutual administrative procedures for resolving tax disputes between the two countries.
Signing this agreement expands and upgrades the network of tax treaties, supporting Cyprus’s position as an international business center and fostering economic and political cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
