ECB to open its doors for the Night of the Museums on 25 April 2026

The European Central Bank (ECB) will participate in Frankfurt’s Night of the Museums on Saturday, 25 April 2026, opening its premises in the Ostend district to the public. The event features guided tours, contemporary art, architecture, and cultural activities.

Visitors can explore the historic Grossmarkthalle, designed by Martin Elsaesser, and the modern high-rise complex by Coop Himmelb(l)au. Two guided tours will be available:

• Tour 1 – Contemporary art: Focuses on works from the ECB’s art collection, including Thomas Bayrle’s site-specific installation “Frankfurters, 1980,” in the conference centre.
• Tour 2 – Architecture and site-specific works: Explores the building’s architectural history, contemporary design by Coop Himmelb(l)au, and site-specific works by Giuseppe Penone and OKO.

In addition, visitors can explore the ground floor at their own pace, including the ECB Visitor Centre, live jazz music, a public talk with Dr. Konrad Elsässer, and interactive quizzes on art and ECB’s work.
