The European Central Bank (ECB) has published consolidated banking data as at end-March 2026 for the EU banking system on a group consolidated basis.
The data cover 335 banking groups and 2,284 stand-alone credit institutions and non-EU controlled subsidiaries and branches operating in the EU, representing nearly 100% of the EU banking sector’s balance sheet.
The dataset includes indicators on profitability, efficiency, balance sheet composition, liquidity, funding, asset quality, asset encumbrance, capital adequacy, and solvency.

The data are primarily based on International Financial Reporting Standards and the European Banking Authority’s standards, with some small and medium-sized institutions applying national standards. The figures include some revisions to previous data.
