The European Central Bank and Reserve Bank of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding to enhance cooperation, updating the 2015 agreement, during the BIS meetings in Basel.
The European Central Bank (ECB) and the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation in central banking today. The signing took place during the Bank for International Settlements meetings in Basel.
The MoU updates the previous agreement from 2015 and establishes a framework for regular exchange of information, policy dialogue, and technical cooperation. This may include joint seminars and workshops on mutual interests.
ECB President Christine Lagarde stated, “It is important that we sustain global cooperation, and I am pleased to sign this MoU together with Governor Malhotra as a sign of our continued dialogue with the Reserve Bank of India.”
