Total employment in the third quarter of 2025 is estimated at 523,510 persons, with a 1.4% increase from 2024. Hours worked rose by 1.9% to 236,757 thousand hours, based on provisional data.
Employment in the third quarter of 2025 is estimated at 523,510 persons, including 470,755 employees and 52,755 self-employed individuals. This represents a 1.4% increase compared to the same quarter in 2024.
Hours worked during this period are estimated at 236,757 thousand hours, reflecting a 1.9% increase from the third quarter of 2024.
The most significant percentage increases in employment and hours worked were observed in the economic activities of wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (NACE G), accommodation and food service activities (NACE I), and manufacturing (NACE C).
Data is based on the European System of Accounts 2010 (ESA 2010) and sources including the Employment and Job Vacancies Survey, Labor Force Survey, Social Insurance Register, and the Treasury of the Republic of Cyprus.
