Cyprus’s foreign trade data for April 2026 (final) and May 2026 (provisional) show increases in imports and exports, with detailed figures and methodological notes.
In May 2026, provisional data show total imports of goods at €1,309.1 million, up 22.3% from May 2025. Imports from EU countries were €705.0 million, and from third countries €604.1 million. Imports include vessel and aircraft ownership transfers valued at €79.9 million.
Total exports in May 2026 were €520.4 million, an increase of 58.9% compared to May 2025. Exports to EU countries were €127.3 million, and to third countries €393.1 million, including vessel ownership transfers valued at €34.8 million.
From January to May 2026, total imports amounted to €5,997.7 million, an 8.0% increase from the same period in 2025. Total exports were €2,157.6 million, a 1.0% increase. The trade deficit for this period was €3,840.1 million.
Final data for April 2026 indicate total imports of €1,368.5 million, up 14.9% year-on-year. Exports of domestically produced goods, including ship and aircraft supplies, were €220.9 million, a 20.5% decrease from April 2025. Exports of industrial products excluding ship and aircraft supplies were €205.9 million, and agricultural exports €14.0 million.
Exports of foreign products, including ship and aircraft supplies, increased by 22.7% to €142.2 million. Main export categories from January to April 2026 included mineral fuels and oils (€517.4 million), halloumi cheese (€130.2 million), and pharmaceutical products (€123.0 million).
