Provisional data for January 2026 indicates total imports of €994.1 million, a 13.6% decrease from €1,151.2 million in January 2025. Imports from EU countries were €554.3 million, and from third countries €439.8 million. Imports including vessel ownership transfer totaled €79.0 million.
Exports in January 2026 amounted to €517.5 million, a 16.6% increase from €443.7 million in January 2025. Exports to EU countries were €97.2 million, and to third countries €420.3 million. Exports including vessel ownership transfer totaled €193.5 million.
The trade deficit in January 2026 was €476.6 million, down from €707.5 million in January 2025.
Final data for December 2025 shows total imports of €1,249.3 million, a 9.9% decrease from €1,386.1 million in December 2024. Exports of domestically produced products, including ships and aircraft provisions, were €274.2 million, a 9.8% increase from €249.7 million in December 2024. Exports of foreign products, including ships and aircraft provisions, increased by 77.7% to €224.2 million.
Major export categories for January–December 2025 included mineral fuels and oils (€2,331.4 million), halloumi cheese (€356.9 million), and pharmaceutical products (€356.2 million).
