Foreign trade statistics for January and February 2026

The official foreign trade data for January and February 2026 show changes in imports, exports, and trade balance compared to previous periods, including provisional and final figures.

Foreign trade statistics for January and February 2026 have been published by the Cyprus Statistical Service. The data include provisional figures for February 2026 and final data for January 2026.

In February 2026, total imports of goods were €1,115.4 million, an increase of 5.6% compared to €1,056.4 million in February 2025. Imports from EU member states were €675.0 million, and from third countries €440.4 million. Imports also include vessel and aircraft ownership transfers valued at €182.4 million.

Total exports in February 2026 were €244.3 million, a decrease of 50.8% from €496.2 million in February 2025. Exports to EU countries were €93.2 million, and to third countries €151.1 million. Exports include vessel ownership transfers valued at €10.5 million.

For January–February 2026, total imports amounted to €2,108.0 million, a decrease of 4.5% compared to €2,207.6 million in the same period of 2025. Total exports were €766.2 million, down 18.5% from €939.9 million. The trade deficit for this period was €1,341.8 million, compared to €1,267.7 million in 2025.

Final data for January 2026 show total imports of €992.6 million, a 13.8% decrease from €1,151.2 million in January 2025. Domestic exports, including ships and aircraft provisions, were €257.0 million, down 30.2%. Exports of industrial products excluding provisions were €244.9 million, and agricultural exports €10.5 million. Exports of foreign products, including provisions, increased by 251.8% to €264.9 million.

Main export categories in January 2026 included mineral fuels and oils (€144.9 million), pharmaceutical products (€39.2 million), and halloumi cheese (€24.4 million).
