Cyprus’s foreign trade data for June 2026 is provisional, showing increased imports and decreased exports compared to June 2025. May 2026 data shows significant import growth and export increases in certain categories.
In June 2026, Cyprus’s provisional data indicates total imports of €1,289.3 million, an 11.9% increase from June 2025 (€1,152.2 million). Imports from EU countries were €730.7 million, and from third countries €558.6 million. Imports include vessel ownership transfers valued at €117.8 million, up from €55.8 million in June 2025.
Total exports in June 2026 were €463.0 million, a 9.9% decrease from June 2025 (€514.1 million). Exports to EU countries were €212.0 million, and to third countries €251.0 million. Exports include vessel and aircraft ownership transfers valued at €77.3 million, up from €68.5 million in June 2025.
From January to June 2026, total imports reached €7,296.8 million, an 8.8% increase compared to €6,705.4 million in the same period of 2025. Total exports were €2,617.7 million, a 1.2% decrease from €2,650.3 million. The trade deficit for this period was €4,679.1 million, compared to €4,055.1 million in 2025.
In May 2026, total imports amounted to €1,309.4 million, a 22.4% increase from May 2025 (€1,070.1 million). Domestic exports, including ships and aircraft supplies, were €348.1 million, a 63.9% increase from €212.4 million in May 2025. Excluding ships and aircraft, domestic exports of industrial products were €334.7 million, and agricultural exports were €12.2 million. Exports of foreign products, including ships and aircraft supplies, increased by 50.5% to €173.5 million from €115.3 million in May 2025.
Main export categories for January-May 2026 included mineral fuels and oils (€743.6 million), halloumi cheese (€167.5 million), and pharmaceutical products (€144.2 million).
