HICP increased by 0.2% in October 2025

The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices rose by 0.2% in October 2025 compared to October 2024, and by 0.1% compared to September 2025, reflecting changes across various categories.

The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for October 2025 increased by 0.2% compared with October 2024 and recorded an increase of 0.1% compared with September 2025 (see Table 1).

The HICP in the Euro area for the last month is based on Eurostat’s flash estimate.

Compared with October 2024, the categories with the largest positive changes were Recreation and Culture (5.2%) and Restaurants and Hotels (5.2%). The largest decreases were in Clothing and Footwear (-6.6%) and Housing, Water Supply, Electricity, and Gas (-2.2%).

Compared with September 2025, notable changes include Clothing and Footwear (3.7%) and Restaurants and Hotels (-1.7%).

From January to October 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, the categories with the most significant changes were Recreation and Culture (6.4%), Clothing and Footwear (-6.1%), and Restaurants and Hotels (5.3%).

The largest change among economic categories compared to October 2024 was Energy (-4.1%), and compared to September 2025, Non-Energy Industrial Goods increased by 1.1% (see Table 2).

Price collection is conducted in urban districts of Lefkosia, Larnaka, Lemesos, and Pafos, with weights based on population distribution: Lefkosia 42%, Lemesos 30%, Larnaka 18%, and Pafos 10%.

The index is calculated using prices of 805 goods and services, collected weekly for seasonal products and monthly for others, including taxes and discounts. The base year for the index is 2015=100.
