The Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) increased by 4.1% in June 2026 compared with June 2025. The index also increased by 0.9% between May and June 2026.
Compared to June 2025, the categories with the largest positive changes were Recreation, Sports and Culture (9.7%) and Restaurants and Accommodation Services (8.9%). The largest negative changes were in Clothing and Footwear (-8.0%) and Information and Communication (-2.9%).
Compared to May 2026, the largest increases were in Restaurants and Accommodation Services (3.4%), Recreation, Sports and Culture (1.9%), and Housing, Water, Electricity, Natural Gas and Other Fuels (1.6%).
The largest change among economic categories compared to June 2025 was in Energy (13.0%), while compared to May 2026, it was in Services (1.8%).
The data is based on Eurostat’s flash estimate for the Euro area for the last month.
Price collection is conducted in urban districts of Lefkosia, Larnaka, Lemesos, and Pafos, with weights assigned based on population. Prices of 850 goods and services are recorded monthly, with weekly collection for seasonal products, meat, and fuels.
The HICP uses consumption expenditure data from Household Budget Surveys and National Accounts, with a base year of 2025=100 from January 2026 onward. The classification has shifted to ECOICOP version 2 from January 2026.
