Index of industrial output prices for March 2026

The industrial output prices index for March 2026 was 121.0 units, down 0.6% year-on-year, with specific sector changes detailed. The index remained stable for the first quarter of 2026 compared to 2025.

The Index of Industrial Output Prices for March 2026 reached 121.0 units (base 2021=100), recording a decrease of 0.6% compared to March 2025. The index for the first three months of 2026 remained unchanged compared to the same period in 2025.

Compared to February 2026, the index decreased by 1.0%. In March 2026, the index remained stable in mining and quarrying, increased in water supply and materials recovery by 0.7%, and in manufacturing by 0.2%. A decrease of 6.9% was recorded in electricity supply.

Year-on-year, sectors of mining and quarrying increased by 1.6%, manufacturing by 1.3%, and water supply and materials recovery by 0.8%. Electricity supply decreased by 9.0%.

Within manufacturing, notable increases compared to March 2025 include furniture, other manufacturing, and machinery repair (6.5%), electronic and optical products (4.7%), machinery, motor vehicles, and transport equipment (1.7%), and wood products (1.1%). A decrease was observed in rubber and plastic products (-0.3%).

Data for February 2026 in water supply and materials recovery, and for March 2026 in electricity supply and water supply, are preliminary. The index is compiled using 2021 as the base year, reflecting monthly price changes relative to 2021 averages. It serves as an early indicator of inflationary pressures and is transmitted monthly to Eurostat.
