The industrial turnover index rose by 4.6% in April 2026 compared to April 2025, reaching 143.1 units. For January–April 2026, the index increased by 3.4% year-on-year.
In April 2026, the Industrial Turnover Index reached 143.1 units (base 2021=100), recording an increase of 4.6% compared to April 2025.
For the period January–April 2026, the index increased by 3.4% compared to the same period in the previous year.
In manufacturing, the index reached 149.2 units, up 5.1% from April 2025. Increases were also observed in mining and quarrying (+5.6%), water supply and materials recovery (+5.5%), and electricity supply (+1.3%).
Detailed sector data shows manufacturing of basic metals and fabricated metal products increased by 11%, while manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment increased by 9.4%. The index for electricity supply was 111.7, and for water supply and materials recovery, it was 141.8.
The index reflects monthly changes in turnover across sectors B, C, D, and E of NACE Rev. 2, excluding sewerage, waste collection, treatment, disposal, and remediation activities. Data collection is conducted via telephone or email from enterprises with turnover over 2 million euros or 20+ employees.
The index is based on 2021 as the base year, with the average of 12 months equal to 100. The index is compiled according to EU Regulation (EU) 2019/2152 and transmitted monthly to Eurostat. More information is available on the CYSTAT portal and database.
