Industrial turnover index increased by 5.6% in March 2026

The industrial turnover index rose by 5.6% in March 2026 compared to March 2025, reaching 144.7 units. The index increased by 2.8% for January-March 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.

The Industrial Turnover Index for March 2026 reached 144.7 units (base 2021=100), recording an increase of 5.6% compared to March 2025.

For the period January to March 2026, the index increased by 2.8% compared to the same period of the previous year.

In manufacturing, the index reached 148.7 units, an increase of 8.2% compared to March 2025. Notable sector changes include a 16.0% increase in water supply and materials recovery, and an 11.0% increase in mining and quarrying. A decrease of 10.3% was observed in the electricity supply sector.

Detailed sector data shows variations across different branches, with manufacturing of food products, textiles, and basic metals experiencing significant increases, while the electricity supply sector declined.

The index reflects monthly changes in turnover across sectors B, C, D, and E of the NACE Rev. 2 classification, excluding sewerage, waste collection, treatment, disposal, and remediation activities.

The data collection is conducted via telephone and email from enterprises with a turnover of 2 million euros or more, or with 20 or more employees. The index is compiled using 2021 as the base year and follows EU regulation (EU) 2019/2152. It is transmitted monthly to Eurostat.
