Provisional data indicates a 3.5% increase in hourly labour costs in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same quarter last year, with seasonally adjusted costs rising by 0.9% compared to the previous quarter.
Based on provisional data, the labour cost index for the third quarter of 2025 shows an increase of 3.5% in total hourly labour costs compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The main components, wages and salaries per hour worked and non-wage costs per hour worked, increased by 3.5% and 3.6%, respectively, compared to the same quarter last year.
From the first quarter of 2025 onwards, data are provisional.
Seasonally adjusted, hourly labour costs increased by 0.9% compared to the previous quarter. Both wages and salaries and non-wage costs, seasonally adjusted, also increased by 0.9% each quarter.
The index is compiled as a chain-linked Laspeyres cost index with 2020 as the base year, covering all economic activities except agriculture, forestry, fishing, household activities as employers, and extraterritorial organizations.
The index uses data from social insurance records, the Treasury, hours worked, and the Labour Cost Survey. It reflects changes in wages, social contributions, taxes, and hours worked.
