The Statistical Service published the January–April 2026 bulletin, covering key economic indicators including manufacturing, construction, transportation, prices, trade, and tourism data for Cyprus.
The Statistical Service announced the publication of the bimonthly bulletin Monthly Economic Developments for the period January–April 2026. The bulletin presents the most important economic developments in Cyprus for these months, along with comparative data for the last four years available until June 16, 2026.
The bulletin notes that the trend component reflects long-term economic evolution influenced by factors such as population growth, technological progress, and overall economic development.
Manufacturing production increased by 0.5% during January–March 2026 compared to the same period in 2025.
The total area of building permits authorized reached 661.4 thousand square meters during January–February 2026, a 54.9% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Total motor vehicle registrations rose by 15.1%, reaching 18,570 units during January–April 2026. Private saloon cars increased to 12,866 units (up 18.2%), and light goods vehicles increased to 1,781 units (up 13.4%) compared to the same period in 2025.
The Consumer Price Index increased by 1.1% during January–April 2026 compared to the previous year.
Total imports of goods amounted to €4,697.0 million, a 4.8% increase, while exports decreased by 9.3%, totaling €1,639.9 million during the same period.
Tourist arrivals totaled 710,370 during January–April 2026, a 17.9% decrease from 865,326 in the same period of 2025.
