The Statistical Service published the January–June 2026 economic bulletin, covering key indicators including manufacturing, construction, trade, tourism, and consumer prices, with comparative data for the past four years.
The Statistical Service announced the publication of the bimonthly bulletin “Monthly Economic Developments” for the period January–June 2026. The bulletin includes key economic developments for Cyprus during this period, along with comparative data for the last four years available until August 13, 2026.
The Trend component illustrates the long-term evolution of economic series influenced by factors such as population growth, technological progress, and overall economic development.
Manufacturing production from January to May 2026 increased by 0.8% compared to the same period in 2025.
The total area of building permits authorized reached 1,350.6 thousand square meters from January to April 2026, a 45.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Motor vehicle registrations rose by 13.2%, totaling 29,367 units from January to June 2026. Private saloon cars increased by 17.2% to 19,995 units, and light goods vehicles increased by 12.9% to 2,795 units.
The Consumer Price Index increased by 1.7% during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in the previous year.
Total imports of goods amounted to €7,296.8 million, an 8.8% increase, while exports totaled €2,617.7 million, a decrease of 1.2% from January to June 2026.
Tourist arrivals decreased by 10.1%, totaling 1,656,015 visitors from January to June 2026, compared to 1,843,013 in the same period of 2025.
