The Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB) has issued a communiqué following information from the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry dated July 17, 2026, regarding fire prevention in industrial areas.
OEB supports the Ministry’s efforts for fire prevention and containment, highlighting that the protection of industrial areas is a collective responsibility of tenants and the lessor authority. Achieving this requires close cooperation, coordination, and timely responses from all involved parties.
Fire prevention is essential for protecting human life, workers’ health and safety, business premises, residents of nearby residential zones, and the environment. It also helps ensure business continuity and prevent significant economic and social impacts.
OEB urges businesses to inform their staff properly, assess their preparedness, and ensure internal emergency procedures are current and known to employees. Businesses should also immediately inform authorities of any changes in facilities, activities, or uses that may increase fire risk.
Businesses are called to respond promptly to the Ministry’s recommendations and contribute to maintaining safe industrial areas.
