The Pancyprian Association of Private Higher Education Institutions (PASISTE) held its general assembly on June 25, 2026, electing a new board and discussing sector developments.
The Electoral General Assembly of the Pancyprian Association of Private Higher Education Institutions (PASISTE), a member of the Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB), was held on June 25, 2026.
During the assembly, outgoing President Dr. Marios Americanos presented the Board of Directors’ report, highlighting key developments for the industry. These include improvements in attracting students from third countries, increasing the maximum admission rate of such students to 20% of each college’s capacity, abolishing restrictive admission dates, and expanding employment sectors for international students.
Information was also provided on the possibility of offering courses during the Summer Course Period of 2026, enhancing flexibility and competitiveness of private higher education institutions.

The new board reaffirmed its commitment to cooperate closely with OEB and relevant authorities to further upgrade private higher education in Cyprus, enhance international competitiveness, and promote policies to attract international students.
