The Statistical Service published the ‘Population by Income Class’ report based on the 2024 Household Income and Living Conditions Survey, detailing economic and social characteristics by income group.
The Statistical Service has announced the publication of the Population by Income Class report, based on the results of the 2024 Survey on Income and Living Conditions of Households. View the report here.
The publication includes data on economic and social characteristics of the population by income class (upper, middle, lower), based on equivalent disposable income. It presents the income thresholds for each class and their changes over time, along with profiles related to activity status, household type, and age groups.
The report further breaks down the middle income class into upper, middle, and lower middle classes, which is the largest income group.
Following OECD methodology, the middle income class comprises households with income between 75% and 200% of the national median income. Households with income above 200% are classified as upper income, while those below 75% are classified as lower income.
The publication is available on the Statistical Service portal, but only in Greek.
