The Price Index of Construction Materials for February 2026 reached 119.28 units (base year 2021=100), recording an increase of 0.33% compared to the previous month.
Compared to the same month of the previous year, the index increased by 0.60%. Main commodity category increases were observed in electromechanical products (2.27%), products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals, and plastics (1.64%), and minerals (0.94%). Decreases were recorded in metallic products (-0.45%) and mineral products (-0.08%).
For the period January–February 2026, the index increased by 0.84% compared to the same period in 2025.
The index reflects the evolution of construction material costs incurred by contractors, based on monthly data collection from suppliers and products, excluding VAT. The index is a weighted average based on the share of each material in total construction expenditure, derived from import and local production data for 2021.
