In February 2026, the number of registered unemployed persons reached 12,273. Seasonally adjusted data indicates a decrease to 9,773 persons from 9,832 in January 2026.

Compared to February 2025, there was a decrease of 488 persons, or 3.8%. The decline is mainly attributed to sectors such as accommodation and food service activities, construction, trade, manufacturing, and a decrease in newcomers to the labor market.

Table 1 presents actual and seasonally adjusted unemployment data for February 2026 and previous months. Table 2 details unemployment by economic activity, with notable decreases in sectors like accommodation and food service, construction, and trade.

The data concerns persons aged 15 and over actively seeking employment, registered at District and Local Labour Offices. Seasonal adjustment removes seasonal effects to reveal underlying trends, using Eurostat’s JDemetra+ software.

From June 15, 2021, the registration process changed with the termination of automatic renewal and the activation of an online platform for new applications, which may affect data comparability.

Unemployment data is classified according to the European Community’s NACE Rev. 2 system. More information is available on the CYSTAT portal and CYSTAT-DB online database.
