In January 2026, the number of registered unemployed persons was 12,650, a decrease from December 2025 and January 2025 figures, reflecting a downward trend in unemployment.
The number of registered unemployed persons at the District Labour Offices on the last day of January 2026 was 12,650. Seasonally adjusted data shows a decrease to 9,848 persons in January 2026, compared to 9,863 in December 2025.
Compared to January 2025, there was a decrease of 497 persons, or 3.8%. The decline is mainly attributed to sectors such as construction, accommodation and food services, trade, manufacturing, and a reduction in newcomers to the labor market.

The methodology involves persons aged 15 and over who actively seek employment and are registered at Labour Offices. Seasonal adjustment removes seasonal effects to reveal underlying trends, using Eurostat’s JDemetra+ software with TRAMO&SEATS algorithm. Revisions may occur as models are updated.
From June 15, 2021, automatic renewal of registrations was discontinued, and the online platform was activated for new registrations, renewals, and vacancy postings, which may affect data comparability.
