In March 2026, the number of registered unemployed persons in Cyprus reached 11,243, according to data from the Department of Labour. The seasonally adjusted number for the same month was 10,090, reflecting an increase from 9,936 in February 2026.
Compared to March 2025, there was an increase of 170 persons, or 1.5%. The sectors mainly contributing to this increase include accommodation and food service activities, professional, scientific, and technical activities, and administrative and support service activities.
Table 1 shows the actual and seasonally adjusted unemployment data for recent months, while Table 2 details unemployment by economic activity based on the NACE Rev. 2 classification.
The methodology involves active job seekers aged 15 and over registered at District and Local Labour Offices. Seasonal adjustment uses the JDemetra+ 2.2.2 software with the TRAMO&SEATS algorithm, which may revise previous estimates. Changes in registration procedures since June 2021 may affect data comparability.
