The Turnover Index of Retail Trade, except of Motor Vehicles, for April 2026 shows an increase of 5.8% in value and 2.9% in volume compared to April 2025.
The index covers activities in division 47 of the EU’s NACE Rev. 2 classification, representing retail trade excluding motor vehicles.
The data is collected monthly via telephone or email by the Statistical Service and uses 2021 as the base year, with an index value of 100.0.
The Turnover Value Index is calculated at current prices, and the Volume Index at constant prices, deflated by the Consumer Price Index (CPI).
The index is a weighted average of various retail activities, with weights derived from the 2021 wholesale and retail trade survey.
