The 2024 services and transport survey reports positive growth in production, value added, and employment across all economic sectors, with notable increases in arts, communication, and education.
The 2024 Services and Transport Survey indicates positive growth in the tertiary sector compared to 2023. Production value increased in transportation and storage by 3.0%, accommodation and food services by 10.0%, information and communication by 22.0%, and other sectors.
Value added at current prices rose in all sectors, with notable increases in arts, entertainment, and recreation by 28.0% to €453.0 million, and in information and communication by 20.6% to €3,952.4 million. Education increased by 13.5% to €504.0 million, and accommodation and food services by 13.3% to €1,967.3 million.
Employment also increased across all sectors. The highest employment was in accommodation and food services with 57,549 persons, followed by professional, scientific, and technical activities with 43,476 persons, and information and communication with 28,440 persons.
Table data shows employment, production value, and value added figures for each sector, with percentage changes compared to 2023. The survey covers approximately 4,100 enterprises and uses multiple data collection methods including email, interviews, and administrative sources.
