In February 2026, tourist arrivals in Cyprus rose by 9.5% to 146,516, while residents returning from abroad increased by 22.5% to 152,198, compared to the previous year.
In February 2026, the number of tourist arrivals in Cyprus reached 146,516, representing an increase of 9.5% compared to February 2025, which recorded 133,760 arrivals. For the period of January–February 2026, total arrivals were 268,141, up 9.1% from 245,860 in the same period of 2025.
The main source countries for February 2026 were the United Kingdom with 19.3% (28,217), Poland with 18.4% (27,003), Israel with 12.6% (18,530), Greece with 9.3% (13,604), and Germany with 6.6% (9,723).
Tourists traveled mainly for holidays (61.5%), visiting friends and relatives (21.6%), and business purposes (16.7%). In February 2025, the respective percentages were 60.3%, 20.4%, and 19.1%.
Residents of Cyprus returning from trips abroad totaled 152,198 in February 2026, an increase of 22.5% compared to 124,232 in February 2025. The main countries of return were Greece (30.8%), the United Kingdom (8.1%), Italy (4.2%), and Poland (4.1%).
The primary purpose of travel for residents was holidays (78.7%), followed by business (19.2%), studies (1.5%), and other reasons (0.6%).
Data are obtained from passenger surveys at Larnaka and Pafos airports and include all persons passing through passport control in the government-controlled areas of Cyprus. The data excludes travelers arriving or departing illegally via ports and airports in the occupied part of Cyprus.
