Trial Balance

An accounting report that lists the balances in each of an organization's general ledger accounts.

In Cyprus, a trial balance is a bookkeeping report that lists the balances of all ledgers into debit and credit columns. Each column should total the same amount. The trial balance is prepared at the end of an accounting period and is used to check the accuracy of the ledger entries before preparing financial statements. It serves as a tool for detecting errors and ensuring the integrity of the financial records.
