The Ergani System: New Decree Mandates Registration of Employment Terms by February 2025
The Ergani System is a digital platform introduced by the Cypriot Ministry of Labour and Social Insurance to modernize labor-related processes and combat undeclared work. Launched on September 13, 2021, it provides a centralized platform for employers to electronically report key employment details such as new hires, terminations, and changes in employment terms.
Employers are required to submit notifications for new hires at least one day before employment begins, as per the law. Late submissions are also facilitated through the system, streamlining administrative procedures. Registration requires employers to provide their registration number and proof of payment to Social Insurance Services. This system not only reduces paperwork but also ensures compliance with labor regulations and enhances transparency in the labor market.
The Ergani platform plays a critical role in safeguarding employee rights, monitoring workplace conditions, and fighting illegal employment, aligning Cyprus with international standards for digital governance and employment practices.
